Looks like I already broke that resolution then. I suppose I have news I can share with you, but to make it easier to your eyes I will bullet point it.

I write on The Next Web (.com and UK channels) now and then about internet-related tech. The stories generally go down quite well as I like fishing out the quirky news. View my archive here and here. As you can see, my updates haven’t been quite as regular due to it being my last year at uni, so various things such as dissertation work, student newspaper stories and general uni essays have gotten in my way. Speaking of student publication…

… The student newspaper I am Culture Editor for – The Linc – now has a magazine supplement inside. The Linc Magazine will contain Culture, Lifestyle and Fashion articles, and I look forward to you reading the Culture section…

The Linc was also nominated for a BBC Innovation Award. Although we came back empty handed, it was great to be recognised.

I am looking for some more work experience. Newspaper, magazine, online, I don’t mind what you are, I’ll do it!]

Er… I turned 21. I also got some Lady GaGa (I’m a big fan, okay?) tickets. Maybe I’ll take my nice camera with me to the gig, I haven’t got that far yet.

I’m also thinking of starting up another blog. I guess you could call it a news blog, but I think theres a couple of legalities I need to work out before setting it up.

Well, that’s about all I can think to fill you in on. Enjoy reading my archives on the website I just dropped to you, come back soon, as I’m going to start adding little bits and bobs from the web that I find interesting etc that I’m sure you will enjoy. Plus, I’ll actually update more instead of being lazy.

I would say Happy Valentines, only I’m not into that ‘holiday’ so happy Sunday!

As you are probably not aware unless you follow me on Twitter (or know me personally), I was nominated in the University of Lincoln Student Union Media Awards 09 in ‘Best Supporting Role’, ‘Best Reporting’ (The Linc) and ‘Best Issue’ (the Linc). The Linc being the newspaper- soon to be predominantly online- I work for as Entertainment Editor. You can check us out here.

It was a great night, and although I did not win my personal category, it was won by another member of our team, and I still had a throughly good night getting tipsy off the free cheap wine provided. Overall, The Linc took home 4 awards, the most of the night, above other student media outlets such as Bullet Magazine (2 awards won) and newcomer Alphamag (3 awards won). Categories won by The Linc were ‘Best Editor’, ‘Best Supporting Individual’, ‘Best Reporting’ and ‘Best Headline‘.

Overall, a great night was had by all, winners and losers, and hopefully this time next year The Linc will not only be able to once again bring home the most awards, but- if nominated- I myself win an award for my shelf!
